Zenfolio is an online image hosting service that tries to bring together all the right elements to give the user the most beneficial, positive experience possible. The site allows users to upload images then provides numerous ways to order prints and other photo products. The organizational tools on Zenfolio allow users to quickly find photographs and sort them into groups, collections and galleries. The site also allows users to store full size images without resizing them. Personal elements such as captions, keywords and titles can be added to each uploaded image. New users can begin the Zenfolio free trial by clicking on the orange “free trial” link found near the center of the homepage. This takes the user to the registration form which requires a username, display name, email address, password and how they heard about Zenfolio. The user must also check the terms and conditions of use and privacy policy check box which is highlighted in light blue at the bottom of the registration form. No billing information is required to sign up for the free trial membership.

Zenfolio offers four membership options to its users. The first is the basic membership which costs around $25 per year. This includes no bandwidth limit, 2 GBs of storage space plus another 1 GB per year, the ability to upload full size images, up to 24 MB maximum file size, original file storage, support for sRGB, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto and more, and compatibility with JPEG, PNG, GIF and TIFF files. The Unlimited account costs around $50 per year and upgrades to include unlimited storage space and the ability to use a custom domain name for all links. The Premium membership costs around $100 and includes personal branding, PDF file options, external homepage options and favorite photograph sharing features. The Premium Business membership runs about $250 per year and upgrades to allow users up to 48 MB file size maximum and the ability to export to Adobe Lightroom.

Zenfolio is a helpful service for just about anyone, although most of the higher end features are geared towards professional photographers and businesses. These two groups can get the most benefit by using Zenfolio to present and sell their product or services.
